Informational Text:  Answer questions about key details, main topic; explain key details and relationship between ideas, events, people and/or pieces of information; describe the nexus between illustrations and text (person, place, thing, idea in text the illustration depicts)

 

Foundational Skills: Demonstrate understanding of organization & basic features of print, spoken words, syllables, sounds; apply phonics and word analysis to decode words; work on fluency

 

WRITING:

Foundational Skills:  Demonstrate and apply handwriting skills & sound-letter concepts when writing; know and apply phonics and word analysis skills when spelling words

 

SPEAKING & LISTENING: Participate in conversations, listen to others talking, wait for your turn to speak, confirm understanding of storybooks read aloud, ask questions to get help or clarification; describe things, people, events; draw events, people and places to help comprehend/present ideas; express thoughts, feelings & ideas loud and clear
